Saturday 3/1/14: The new LAURA LEE EXPRESS has arrived at Captree. Formerly the Sea Devil out of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ she is a fast, Lydia built fiberglass super cruiser. Fully heated and air conditioned she will get us to the inshore grounds faster and to offshore grounds that were previously out of our range. We hope to start sailing by mid April. Click our Facebook button for a picture. Thank you to our loyal customers for making this possible.
Tuesday 2/4/14: A great day today! Regional management was passed for fluke at the joint Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission/Mid Atlantic Fisheries Management Council meeting. 18 inch fluke, 4 fish bag and a 128 day season for New York, Connecticut and New Jersey in 2014. Thanks to the efforts of Chuck Schumer, Mario Cuomo, Tony DiLernia, Jim Gilmore, Pat Augstine, Kathy Henlein, Phil Boyle, Jim Hutchenson and so many others. Also today at the annual RSA auction we won 10,000 lbs. of fluke, sea bass and porgies for our customers to use during the closed season, way more than any other boat.
Tuesday 1/21/14: WE ARE GOING TO THE SHIPYARD FOR OUR YEARLY COAST GUARD INSPECTION. WE EXPECT TO RESUME SAILING IN LATE MARCH. THANK YOU TO ALL OUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS FOR MAKING 2013 A SUCCESSFUL SEASON. WE EXPECT TO HAVE MANY IMPROVEMENTS AND UPGRADES FOR THE 2014 SEASON.
